UPPER PATIO & OUTDOOR BAR
Whether, dining, drinking, or simply lounging, the upper patio has a perfect spot that’s been perfectly appointed for your preferred activity.
You’re first greeted by the covered area outside the front door, furnished with a comfy seating arrangement made for enjoying an afternoon in the shade. The Outer Teak Armchairs and 3 Seater Sofa are not only supremely comfy, but they’re also mold, mildew, and stain resistant! A modern concrete coffee table and some black textured pillows bring in graphic accents, while a collection of oversized ceramic pots draws in the Spanish architecture.
Across from the covered patio, a flagstone patio has a charming fountain and two ample teak dining tables perfect for large and lively al fresco meals. And what outdoor space is complete without its very own bar? This former storage building was transformed into a cozy spot to serve up a cocktail, complete with a Spanish tile interior. (Plus, the overhead string lights mean the party can continue well after the sun sets.)
To keep the party going we also added a Sonos system throughout the entire property (both inside and outside) so that no matter where you are you can keep your favorite tunes playing.

What’s better than a charming deck to enjoy your morning coffee? A deck that also happens to have one picturesque view of the sunrise over the hills.
Accessible by French doors from one of the private Casitas (we’ll share all the info on those later this week), this brand new deck is the private spot we would love to spend all our time in. The Timbertech weathered teak deck is actually constructed from ingenious recycled materials (yup, no wood here), and will continue to look amazing for years to come – with little to no maintenance required. With the addition of a pair of Outer Teak Armchairs and some pretty foliage, you’ve got one gorgeous desert hangout.
Grill enthusiasts, we’ve got you covered! This outdoor kitchen is totally outfitted to get you fired up in style.
The undisputed star of this outdoor kitchen would have to be the Edgestar Built-In Propane Grill. With all the bells and whistles you could possibly want (like light-up knobs, a built-in rotisserie, and an infrared burner) this grill is the ultimate accessory for any meal. And having a handy prep sink just an arm’s length away makes clean up and rinsing off a cinch. Special attention was needed when choosing the outdoor countertops since the desert environment can be quite harsh on outdoor materials. We chose Lapitec® Sintered Stone in a satin finish from Willis as it is extremely durable, nonporous, and UV stable. And while this kitchen is full of function, we also gave it a heaping helping of style, courtesy of the brick paver flooring, rustic wood details, and that decorative stucco fireplace.

Down a flight of stairs from the upper patio, the lounge area was designed for just that – getting comfy and letting your cares melt away as you take in the serene desert landscape.
Speaking of that desert landscape, Standard Design Group gave the entire property an elevated look, bringing in native plants and trees to create the ultimate oasis. A duo of Outer Teak Armchairs and Outdoor Ottomans is ideal for napping or enjoying a good book, while conversations or cocktails can be had in the seating area opposite. The Outer Teak Outdoor Armless Loveseat is a perfect fit for this more intimate area, and when paired with the Teak Outdoor Coffee Table, a few side tables, and a bit of greenery, you’ve got yet another very pretty area to enjoy the property.

We don’t like to pick favorites, but we may have just saved the best outdoor space for last. And we can’t help but boast that this pool area pretty much has it all.
As the quintessential spot for any warm-weather vacation rental, the poolside is where many guests find themselves frequenting the most. (Especially when temperatures can hit 110 degrees!) and this pool area has plenty of features to keep anyone entertained. After descending a staircase from the lounge area, you enter into a totally private paradise, sounded by the desert landscape, steep hills, (and not a neighbor in sight)! Past the pool and hot tub, we installed another Timbertech weathered teak deck. In addition to the little to no maintenance, we truly love how this deck blends seamlessly into the surrounding desert color palette. And it looks just like real wood! We also created a large seating group with more Outer Teak Armchairs and 3 Seater Sofa, and some chic upholstered loungers make for stylish spots to perch by the pool too.
And because no one should have to walk back up to the upper patio for a drink, we outfitted a 2nd outdoor bar just steps from the pool deck. Continuing the Lapitec® Sintered Stone in a satin finish from Willis, we also added a JennAir Bottom Mount Refrigerator, meaning a cold drink is always close by! And why not pull up one of those rope seats for a playful way to swing while you swig?
