Fall has officially arrived, but down under warming temperatures and blue skies are ushering in Spring. And there’s nowhere we would rather spend a warm day than at this stunning beachside home in Australia.

This modern home, located just outside Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula, was renovated by Whiting Architects to serve as a year round escape for a large family. It was designed to withstand the harsh conditions of it’s location- bright summer sunlight and strong winter winds- while taking advantage of the amazing 180 degree ocean views.

The home works harmoniously with the surrounding landscape of rolling sand dunes, utilizing concrete and vertical wood planks on the exterior, and a neutral palette that is modern but warm for the interiors.
