White Kitchens: Timeless and Classic
Some things in design will always be classic. Case in point, the all-white kitchen. Some may call it a trend, but to us it is timeless and always will be. It’s one of those things that never seems to feel dated.
There is just something about the neutral color palette that keeps things airy and light but you know we love a good use of moody hues and a few graphic pops to keep things interesting. So how do you design a white kitchen but make it #BobbyBerk?
Here are a few of our tips to get that all white kitchen look while still keeping it interesting, warm, and timeless. Hint: it doesn’t have to involve a remodel, a lot of money, or a lot of time.

PLAY WITH TEXTURE:
Never underestimate the power of texture. We always say, rather than bringing in a lot of different colors, bring in interest through texture. The same goes for your kitchen. If color isn’t for you then play with tone and texture. Adding textured tiles like these into your space keep things neutral while adding a subtle texture to keep it interesting.

TWO TONE WITH PAINT:
Are you are a fan of the all-white look, but still crave a little color? Fret not, you can still get the bright and airy look while introducing a dose of color in your own kitchen. This kitchen designed by is the perfect example of how you can bring in a little bit of color into your kitchen by painting the lowers a different color than the uppers. By keeping the uppers white it draws your eye up and keeps it feeling light and bright.

TWO TONE WITH WOOD:
The same can also happen when you use a wood lower and a painted white upper. The wood helps to warm up the lower area of the kitchen while the white keeps it feeling bright and white.

WHITE YET WARM:
An all-white kitchen obviously starts with an all-white foundation, but to bring in warmth be sure to accent with rich wood tones through your accessories, furniture or lighting. Whether that be a cutting board, some wood accessories or a few decorative bowls. The wooden tones will help warm up all the white you have in your space.

A GRAPHIC POP:
We love to always bring in a graphic pop through an interesting lighting fixture or a few black accessories that you use on your shelves or on the counter. You don’t need to go overboard as just a few well-placed items can go a long way to bring in interest. Less is more when it comes to accessories. And if you have a place for lighting then you can bring that graphic pop in through a statement pendant light. These small elements give just the pop of punch to your all white space.
Would love to see or share thoughts on updating kitchens from the 90’s. I have terra-cotta tiles I cannot replace. So how can I update my kitchen in white and still keep them? ??Thank you!
